The Government has set to "zero euros" the first bill to be paid for the 'rescue' of the highways that went bankrupt during the crisis, which the State 'rescued' and is currently managed by the Ministry of Transportation, as reported by this Department.

The calculation is the result of the formula that the Government approved in April of last year to calculate what it is worth to pay the companies that had the concession of the highways and their creditors for the investment they once made to build them, that is, the denominated Patrimonial Responsibility of the Administration (RPA) .

Under this formula, the Department headed by José Luis Ábalos has already completed the calculation of the RPA of the first of the nine rescued roads. This is the M-12 Axis Airport , the highway that connects Madrid with Barajas Airport, and whose construction and concession was carried out by OHL.

According to the Government's calculation, the RPA, the 'invoice' to be paid by OHL this way and the funds that were left with the highway debt, is 54.37 million euros.

However, the executive considers that he must "provisionally withhold" 194.71 million euros to deal with the settlement of pending situations, such as expropriations not yet paid.

"Therefore, given that the amount of provisional withholding is higher than that of the RPA, the amount to be paid for the termination of the highway concession contract to the airport is zero euros," said the Ministry of Transportation, such as newspaper 'Cinco Días ' advances in its edition this Friday, according to Europa Press.

However, this Department now opens a public hearing period of this fifteen-day settlement so that the interested parties can make allegations.
