Iberia temporarily suspends its flights with China because of the coronavirus, from this Friday and, for the moment, during the month of February. Customers with already issued tickets can request a refund or a change of travel date. The Spanish airline offers three trips and three weekly laps between Madrid and Shanghai.

Iberia has followed the same path announced by British Airways, which is part of the IAG group and made that same decision a few hours earlier, as did Air India and Air Seoul, among other airlines in the sector. From February, it will also avoid these routes to China Finnair, the Indonesian Lion Air and the Burmese Myanmar National Airlines, Air KBZ and Myanmar Airways International.

The American company United Airlines has reduced its journeys to the area, as has Cathay Pacific Airways, originally from Hong Kong. Air Tanzania has postponed the first journeys to and from China, which were also to begin in February.
