• Ribera urged Jordi Sevilla not to fight against the decisions of the CNMC approved by her husband

The former president of Red Eléctrica, Jordi Sevilla , has said goodbye to the board of directors of the power group with a letter in which he explicitly refers to the "external restrictions and discrepancies in the regulatory field" with Vice President Teresa Ribera during the last months.

This situation of friction in the management of the listed company "could affect the good progress of the company, its future plans and my management as president," the former Minister of Public Administration told the board.

Seville has taken stock of its year and a half at the head of the group, highlighting the "decisive" role that the company has had in defining scenarios for the National Energy and Climate Plan as well as in the record integration of renewables carried out on Last exercise

The former president of the power group has referred to the "intense debates" carried out with the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) for the cut to the regulated compensation charged by the entity for managing high voltage networks and as a system operator. Precisely, this has been the epicenter and origin of the conflict that has ended with his departure from the company, since Seville itself has insisted on legally fighting the regulatory cut against the pressures of the ministry.

"Given this journey and with this situation, and given the wear and tear that the defense of the interests of the company has represented for me in recent months, I consider that the time has come to take over a presidency that drives the new stage that opens for Red Eléctrica, "he concluded.

The group sent a statement minutes later thanking the management of Seville and announcing the implementation of the contingency plan to avoid episodes of misgovernment. Roberto Merino , appointed a few months ago as CEO of Seville himself, will assume the executive management of the group and representation in meetings with the Administration and Ribera itself.
