• AEDAF.José Ignacio Alemany: "The corporate tax that Sánchez plans is unconstitutional"

Tax advisors are receiving numerous inquiries about possible relocation of assets to other countries. That is, questions from their clients about how and what benefit it would have to take their money to neighboring nations such as Portugal, and thus avoid the tax increase that the Government of Sánchez and Iglesias intends to carry out. And the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors (Aedaf) testifies.

" We already have consultations in Portugal and of course in the United Kingdom . We are 27 States among which there are no barriers but we still have fiscal sovereignty, and if one State decides to raise taxes a lot, people move to another, " sources of Aedaf in reference to the increase in income tax for high incomes, new tax figures or the homogenization of Successions or Patrimony that the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero.

These consultations and concerns were already expressed during the approval process of the finally rejected Budget last year, but now, with the support of Podemos and also as a direct consequence of this same formation in the Government, the movement would have accelerated. However, the advisors clearly state that if relocation is carried out, the movement must be complete and consistent. "What can not be is that someone decides to go to Portugal but still have everything in Spain. The tax is paid where value is created. It is not enough to have a flat with the light on all day," they exemplify.

Taxpayer Rights

Since Aedaf also pays attention to the practices of the Tax Agency, and openly criticize that the rights of taxpayers are being "severed." "There is no relationship of equality between an administration and a citizen. Everything is protected in the fight against fraud. Everything goes. And that leads to the erosion of the taxpayer's right ," they affirm.
