Ryanair wants to expand its fleet and is having discussions with Airbus because of the continuing problems at Boeing, a spokesperson for the Laudamotion subsidiary tells German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche .

Ryanair's fleet currently consists of purely Boeing aircraft. But due to the problems with the 737 MAX model, the airline is unable to further expand its fleet. According to the spokesperson, Ryanair wants the fleet to grow to a hundred aircraft.

The relationship between Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary and Airbus would not be optimal. O'Leary is known for negotiating large discounts with aircraft manufacturers. Boeing was more obliging in this regard than Airbus. Due to the great need, the CEO is now prepared to sit down with Airbus.
