• Public Function.Sanchez exploits the last legacy of Montoro: approves the salary increase of the officials that agreed the PP

The second vice president of the Government, Pablo Iglesias, will have a salary of 79,746 euros a year for his activity in the Executive. For its part, the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero , will receive, like the rest of those responsible for some portfolio, 74,858 euros per year . And therefore, the Iglesias-Montero couple will have an annual income of just over 150,000 euros a year.

This concludes the figures published today by the Official State Gazette (BOE), after the Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday the increase in public salaries, and which also reflects that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez , will enter 84,845 euros .

The income of Montero and Iglesias is limited by the ethical code of Podemos, which establishes a " general salary limit for all members of three minimum interprofessional wages ." "The remaining part of the salary received by the representatives, elected officials or members of government teams or their advisors and freely appointed positions will be donated under the terms established in this chapter," adds the purple training document.

However, "in accordance with the provisions of the annexes to this Regulation, a SMI medium will be added to the amount previously established for each person in charge up to a maximum of two additional SMIs," the text continues. Given that you both have three children, both Iglesias and Montero can receive the amount equal to 4.5 minimum wages, which currently represents 4,050 euros for 14 payments and amounts to a figure that is already very much in line with the net salary at who are entitled for their activity in the Government.

And the figure will go even further at the moment in which the Government of PSOE and Podemos approve the new increase of the SMI that if, for example, it becomes 950 euros would make the self-imposed limit by Podemos be 4,275 euros.

The highest salaries

In any case, both the incomes of the ministers, vice-presidents or the president himself are not, by far, the most bulky in the public sphere. For example, the president of the Economic and Social Council, María del Carmen Barrera, will have an annual income of 92,245 euros. The salary of the Supreme Court and the General Council of the Judiciary, Carlos Lesmes , will amount to more than 140,000 euros. And until 156,171 will arrive, between the salary and other remuneration, the president of the Constitutional Court, Juan José González Rivas .
