Almost two weeks after the crash of the Ukrainian plane, which was mistakenly hit by one or two Iranian missiles near Tehran, the fate of the aircraft's black boxes has still not been clarified.

With our correspondent in Tehran, Siavosh Ghazi

After declaring that the black boxes will be sent to France for decoding, the director of accident investigations of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, Hassan Rezaeefar, said that " the black boxes are in Iran and there is no there is no plan to send them abroad yet ”.

He added that experts were trying to read the data in Iran itself. But in the event that this is not possible their shipment to Ukraine and France are the next options considered by the authorities.

Previously, the same official had said that the Boeing shot down by mistake was a modern device and that Iran did not have the technology to decode the data in its black boxes.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had nevertheless called on Tehran to send the black boxes of the plane to France and Hassan Rezaeefar did not explain the reasons for this reversal.

In any case, the bodies of the 150 passengers and crew members, out of a total of 176 people killed, were handed over to their families. The eleven Ukrainians, including the crew members on the plane, were sent to their country.
