During the December 2019, the Dubai Commercial Registration and Licensing sector added five new commercial activities to a number of vital sectors, bringing the total number of commercial activities to 2,200.

This step comes after a periodic survey conducted by the sector to track the needs of the local market, the principle of supply and demand, in addition to the Dubai economic strategy aimed at facilitating the conduct of business for owners of commercial licenses, and working to provide their activities and market needs.

The first activity is «reception and counseling services», and includes the facilities that provide personal reception and counseling services, which meet the needs of inmates who live in residential complexes, hotels and administrative buildings. These services include providing information, arranging restaurant reservations, making phone calls, arranging travel reservations and visiting tourist destinations, arranging health club services, coordinating baggage services, and purchasing event cards.

As for the second activity, it is represented in "claims billing services", and it includes establishments that prepare claims billing (billing) on ​​behalf of owners, major developers, owners associations, and others who pay the costs of some services.

The third activity is “conformity certification services for modified vehicles”, and includes facilities authorized by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, with procedures for issuing conformity certificates for modified vehicles according to the quality, calibration and standardization standards approved by the authorization authority, at the local and international levels.

The fourth activity, according to the registration sector, was represented in "renting vehicles by electronic media and smart applications", and it includes the facilities authorized by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority to practice the rental service, through communication, electronic media, smart applications, or any other means.

As for the fifth activity of “Health Insurance Claims Administration”, it includes establishments that settle claims with health service providers, on behalf of insurance companies, or self-financing programs.

The Dubai Economic Department launched the Economic Activities Manual, which clarifies the mechanism for doing business and commercial activities in the Emirate of Dubai. The guide is a unified reference for economic classifications, and it effectively contributes to clarifying the various economic activities in the emirate.
