The Business Traffic Report, issued by the Dubai Economic Registration and Licensing Sector, showed that the total number of new licenses issued during December 2019 reached 4146 licenses, adding 19 thousand and 161 jobs to the labor market.

The new licenses were divided into several activities, the foremost of which were the professional activities that registered 2969 licenses with a rate of 71.6%, then commercial activities (1085 licenses) with 26.2%, followed by tourism activities that recorded 70 licenses with a percentage of 1.7%, and the industrial (22 licenses) with 0.5% .

Total transactions

The report pointed out that the total number of completed registration and commercial licensing transactions, during December 2019, reached 29,002 thousand transactions, while outsourcing centers completed 22 thousand and 150 transactions, accounting for 76% of the total transactions completed. The process of reserving trade names registered 5197 procedures, while the number of initial approvals reached 4,524 procedures, while the total number of commercial licenses in December 2019 reached 1121 permits, which confirms Dubai's attractiveness to those wishing to engage in commercial activities on the one hand, and increasing business confidence in the strength of the local economy .

Immediate licenses

The number of instant licenses issued in one step without a site and a construction contract for the first year reached 168, while the number of "merchant" licenses reached 210.

The report revealed that the total renewal transactions reached 10 thousand and 636 transactions, which included 5337 renewal transactions for commercial licenses automatically through text messages, which constitutes 50% of the total transactions, which confirms the sustainability and competitiveness of businesses in Dubai.

Distribution of licenses

The Business Traffic report highlighted the distribution of new licenses during December 2019 according to the main regions in Dubai, where the Bur Dubai region won the largest percentage with a total of 2731 licenses, followed by the Deira region that registered 1411 licenses, then the Hatta region with four licenses New business.

The report pointed to the distribution of new licenses to the top 10 sub-regions, which constituted 66% of the total of all regions. "Burj Khalifa" topped the regions, followed by the regions: First Commercial Center, Al Garhoud, Oud Metha, Umm Ramool, Al Fahidi, Hor Al Anz East, Al Murar, Mankhool, and Al Bateen Card.

The nationalities of the new licensees varied in December 2019 to include businessmen from Britain, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Egypt, China, Jordan and Sudan.
