Cashless payment "PayPay" next month Large-scale campaign January 17 17:34

"PayPay," a company that handles cashless payments using smartphones, announced that it will launch a large-scale campaign next month in partnership with food chains and beverage manufacturers. Although the use of cashless payments has been widespread as a result of the consumption tax hike, competition to increase the number of users has increased.

"PayPay" will partner with eight companies, including food and beverage chains and beverage manufacturers, to conduct a large-scale campaign for the next month, targeting more than 6,500 stores and more than 210,000 vending machines nationwide.

Specifically, using PayPay means that 40% of the purchase price will be returned up to a maximum of 500 yen per transaction.

The maximum amount of money returned during the campaign period is 1500 yen per person.

PayPay has increased the number of registrants to 23 million by repeatedly conducting campaigns claiming the amount of purchases, etc. Competition to increase users among cashless payment companies is increasing.

"If you don't think it's convenient, the service won't survive. We want to increase the number of users by partnering with various companies," said PayPay President Ichiro Nakayama.
