ITOCHU Corporation, a major trading company, has partnered with a venture company to start collecting data on "whole genome analysis" that examines all genetic information of patients and build a database that can be used for the development of new drugs.

"Whole-genome analysis" seeks to examine all the genetic information of a patient and lead to the development of effective treatments and new drugs.

In this regard, ITOCHU has partnered with a gene analysis venture company to set up a database to manage gene data.

The prospect of the next three years, to collect genetic data of 10,000 scale of the Japanese provided to research institutions and companies, to assess the development and susceptible to illness of new drugs on an individual basis, such as in services to improve the eating habits We plan to make use of it.
