Etihad Airways said that the impact of Manila International Airport Ninoy Aquino and its surroundings on Tal Volcano had affected the movement of Etihad Airways flights.

A company spokesman said that Etihad flight EY428 flying from Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Manila (MNL) was transferred yesterday evening to Hong Kong (HKG), and the affected guests will be assisted in following up their travel to Manila after the airport is opened.

The spokesman pointed out that Etihad Airways flight EY423 flying from Manila (MNL) to Abu Dhabi (AUH) yesterday witnessed a delay and the hotel accommodation was provided for the guests traveling on that flight.

He added that the following flights were also canceled:
Etihad Airways flight EY421 from Manila to Abu Dhabi on January 13
Etihad Airways flight EY424 from Abu Dhabi to Manila on January 13
Etihad Airways flight EY423 from Manila to Abu Dhabi on January 13
Etihad Airways flight EY428 from Abu Dhabi to Manila on January 13
Etihad Airways flight EY421 from Manila to Abu Dhabi on January 14
