The market explained to «Emirates Today» that female citizens made up about 77% of the total number of female investors with 190,000 female citizens, pointing out that the volume of transactions for female investors amounted to 6.375 billion shares, with a value of 6.215 billion dirhams during 2019.

In detail, the Dubai Financial Market stated that the number of women investors in the market amounted to 247.2 thousand investors by the end of 2019, an increase of 733 investors over 2018, and an annual increase of about 3%, indicating that the number of female citizens of them reached 190 thousand women, who constituted about 77% Of the total number of women investors.

The market added to «Emirates Today» that the women investors accounted for 29.3% of the total number of registered investors in the market, which reached 844.1 thousand investors during the year 2019.

He pointed out that the number of shares held by women investors as a whole reached 3.526 billion shares, at a value of 8.685 billion dirhams, constituting 2.3% of the market value of the market, which reached 374.171 billion dirhams at the end of last year.

The market registered 8645 new accounts during 2019, while the number of new accounts during last December alone reached 636 accounts, and the number of listed companies is 66 companies.

Brokerage firms in the Dubai Financial Market, which currently number 35 companies, executed more than 1.31 million deals during the past year, after trading on 80.08 billion shares with a value of 106 billion dirhams, compared to 1.32 million deals in 2018, through trading 90.7 billion shares worth 119.39 billion dirhams.
