“Of course, it’s just strange to hear a statement by a high-ranking government official who says that, let's buy gas more expensive, so that it is more expensive for our residents than buy cheaper. By and large, the statement sounds exactly like that, ”Ananskih said.

The deputy noted that direct gas supplies from Russia to Ukraine are cheaper, and also recalled the possibility of discounts for Ukrainian suppliers.

“There is nowhere more profitable. Therefore, any statement is simply a fraud of the population and work to ensure that the life of ordinary citizens of Ukraine is more expensive, ”the parliamentarian concluded.

Earlier, Kuleba said Ukraine was not ready for direct gas supplies from Russia.

According to him, his goal as Vice Prime Minister is to ensure that the gas market of Ukraine operates solely on the basis of EU standards, the Third Energy Package.

As Kuleba noted, Russia should not use gas as an instrument of blackmail.
