The Department of Business Protection in Dubai Economy said that it received complaints from three companies specialized in selling foodstuffs against a five-star hotel in Dubai, noting that it is investigating the complaints, as it summoned all parties to settle the commercial dispute and find a solution to the complaints.

She explained that it came in the complaints submitted, that it was agreed with the hotel management to supply groups of food commodities, but that the hotel management did not commit to pay the dues of companies according to the agreement concluded with the hotel.

The director of the Business Protection Department, Ahmed Al-Awadi, said that the employees of the Commercial Entities Complaints Department have investigated the details of the complaints, as they have reviewed the details of the agreements, contracts and documents that have been attached, which demonstrate the commitment of the three companies to provide the required food and food products as agreed.

He added that he had been contacted with officials in the hotel management to see the details and listen to their response and the reasons for not paying the dues to companies despite their commitment to the terms of the agreement.

Al-Awadi added that after several attempts, the hotel’s lawyer was contacted, who in turn met with the stakeholders in the Department of Business Protection, adding that after reviewing the documents and bills, he was informed of the necessity of the hotel’s commitment to pay the dues as agreed upon.

Al-Awadi pointed out that it was agreed that all amounts due should be paid in three installments, and the date and time of each installment was determined, and the merchants were informed accordingly.

The Director of the Business Protection Department confirmed that the performance of the officials in the hotel will be followed up to ensure their commitment to pay the dues according to the specified dates, noting that the officials of the three companies praised the great role played by the employees of the Business Protection Department.

And that the value of the unpaid amounts amounted to about 422 thousand dirhams, calling on companies that have inquiries or complaints against commercial institutions working in Dubai to cooperate with the Department of Business Protection, which is the service provided by Dubai’s economy in order to enhance the business climate in Dubai, and find a balanced relationship And fair among the commercial companies operating in Dubai.
