“This decision of the company, of course, will shift to the right, as they say, the timing of the introduction of this project, but will not prevent it. Belatedly, but the project, we hope, will be put into operation, the necessary capacities are available for this, ”the Kremlin representative said.

He did not answer the question about possible sanctions against Allseas, calling it a commercial issue that cannot be public.

On December 20, US President Donald Trump signed the country's defense budget for the fiscal year, which provides for restrictive measures against SP-2. After that, Allseas suspended work on the project.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak expressed confidence that the pipeline would be launched before the end of 2020.
