“In order to fulfill the agreements reached in Minsk on December 20, Gazprom paid $ 2.9 billion in accordance with the decision of the Arbitration Institute of the CCI of Stockholm, within the time period stipulated by the protocol of December 20,” Interfax quoted the representative of the Russian company.

Earlier, the presidential aide, Andrei Yermak, said that during the gas talks in Minsk, the Russian side agreed to pay $ 3 billion to Kiev by decision of the Stockholm arbitration.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said that Moscow and Kiev agreed on a five-year contract for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine.

He also said that the parties have settled mutual litigation.

The Ukrainian side expects that all gas agreements between Moscow and Kiev should be signed before December 29.
