His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, launched a new phase of the "Happiness Agenda" program implemented by "Smart Dubai", coinciding with the passage of four years since its launch in 2016, to enhance happiness in the city of Dubai, His Highness also adopted two new names for happiness champions, namely: "Smart City Experience Specialist" for happiness heroes in the field of customer service, and "Work Environment Specialist" for happiness heroes in the field of human resources.

This came during the visit of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to the headquarters of Dubai Smart Office, where he was received by Dr. Aisha bint Butti bin Bishr, Director General of Smart Dubai, and a number of office officials.

His Highness stressed Dubai’s keenness to set an example and a model for smart cities that guarantee its people and visitors the highest levels of satisfaction and happiness. His Highness said: “The heroes of happiness have become an inherent component of the soft power of smart cities. One goal serves the development of a method to design and build a smart city according to the best standards, and improve the quality of services, to enhance the living experience of the residents and visitors of Dubai.

During the visit, His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai reviewed a report presented by Smart Dubai team about the local and global impact of the happiness agenda during the past three years, where smart Dubai received many requests for cooperation within this framework from within the country and abroad, what resulted in signing agreements to implement the happiness agenda in the governments of Ajman And Fujairah, along with an official invitation received by Smart Dubai from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Bhutan, to present the experience of the emirate and the happiness agenda for them, in addition to the cooperation of the happiness agenda team with an international company to develop unified frameworks that would support city governments to enhance the daily experiences of cities All residents and visitors.

During the visit, His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai listened to a detailed explanation provided by Hamad Al Awadi, Project Manager in the Smart Dubai office and leader of the happiness agenda, about the achievements of the agenda and the happiness champions team consisting of 78 happiness champions from the departments of customer service and human resources from 43 governmental, semi-governmental and private agencies in the Emirate Dubai, and their efforts to raise the efficiency of government work and services provided in the city in general.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai also briefed on the most prominent outputs and results of the projects applied for the training program "Designing Cities", which is organized by Smart Dubai annually and is devoted to the champions of happiness, and is based on three main axes: intelligence, human and design. Where the happiness champions visited during the past three years a number of cities around the world, including: Florida, Copenhagen and Tokyo, as part of the training program, where the "City Design" program in Copenhagen resulted in the design of 23 individual and group projects for the happiness champions.

His Highness also followed a presentation by Etisalat on the individual project, which explains how to take advantage of the program by cooperating with Dubai courts to enable Etisalat to directly verify the justice agencies in order to reduce fraud cases by issuing smart chip cards, and a presentation from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, On how to use the Dubai Smart Happiness Index data to get a deep understanding and understanding of customer feedback, and work with the Authority’s team to redesign customer experiences to improve their happiness levels.

His Highness also reviewed a presentation from the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai on the results and outputs of a project that showed the positive impact of teamwork among a number of entities in Dubai, in enhancing the overall experience of reaching Dubai airports, and a presentation submitted by Dubai Municipality on the most important lessons learned from the training program. Designing Cities "for the year 2019 Tokyo, and highlighted the value of focusing on ways to use data and taking cultural standards into consideration and their impact on the design and delivery of city services.
