Collective bargaining dispute: Ufo union announces further possible strikes

The flight attendants' union reserves the right to take further strikes in the wage dispute with Lufthansa. No strikes are planned for the Christmas days.

The flight attendants' union Ufo is threatening further strikes in the wage dispute with Lufthansa. Short-term calls for industrial action are possible at any time, said a representative of the union on Sunday evening. The talks on the weekend would have brought no solution. On the holidays from December 24th to 26th, however, Ufo wants to avoid strikes. The union did not want to rule out a walkout this Monday.

Lufthansa announced that the arbitrators had proposed another appointment for early January. "Lufthansa continues to expect that there will be good solutions for the 22,000 cabin employees when it comes to arbitration issues," the airline said.

The union and Lufthansa had negotiated two mediators at the weekend. Strikes have already occurred in the conflict. More than a thousand flights with around 200,000 passengers were canceled.
