"Representatives of the European Commission, Ukraine and Russia today (December 20, - RT ) reached a final agreement on principled positions on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to European consumers and the settlement of mutual claims," the Facebook statement said.
The office of the Ukrainian president specified that all the details of the new gas contract with Russia will be disclosed at a special briefing on December 21, Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine Alexey Orzhel and Naftogaz Executive Director Yuriy Vitrenko.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak announced the approval of a five-year contract for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine.
The signing of the document should take place before the end of 2019.
