The Tokyo foreign exchange market and the yen exchange rate on the 18th were modest price movements.

The yen's exchange rate at 5 pm was 1 dollar = 109.43 yen to 45 yen, which was 16 yen stronger than the 17th.

Compared to the 17th, the euro was 29 yen stronger against the euro, 1 euro = 121.81 yen to 85 yen.

The euro was 1 euro = 1.1131 to 32 dollars against the dollar.

Market officials said, “There was a movement to buy yen that is considered to be risk-resistant in part due to the news about the transition period of the UK withdrawal from the EU. “In the market, there was a voice that wanted to make a deal after confirming the results of a meeting to determine the Bank of Japan's monetary policy that will be held until tomorrow.”
