The Dutch producer of fast charging stations Fastned is expanding to Belgium. The company has received permits for thirteen locations in Belgium to install charging stations for electric cars.
The stations will be built on existing highway parking places in Flanders in the provinces of Limburg, Flemish Brabant and Antwerp. The motorway parking areas fall under the authority of the Roads and Traffic Agency (AWV).
Michiel Langezaal, CEO of Fastned, is happy with the news. "We are very happy that we are now also going to build fast charging stations directly on the motorway in Belgium. This fits perfectly with our mission of giving the electric driver freedom and thereby accelerating the transition to electric mobility. Our goal is a European network of fast charging stations where all electric cars can charge quickly and with these locations we are one step closer, "says Langezaal.
With the extension to Belgium, Fastned is active in four countries. In addition to the Netherlands and Belgium, the supplier of fast-charging stations is also active in Germany and the United Kingdom. There are currently 114 Fastned fast charging stations in use.
