According to Tsekov, not only Vitrenko, but also many others, including representatives of the Russian side, say that it is necessary to resolve the issue of gas transit through the territory of Ukraine.

“A lot of questions arise about how long to conclude an agreement, at what price, what is Ukraine’s position on gas transit in general ... Given these multiple statements, I would, frankly, not really focus on Vitrenko’s statements. It seems to me that we should focus on the final result, when there will be a concrete agreement, ”the senator emphasized.

He also noted that the dialogue between the parties is ongoing.

Vitrenko previously told RIA Novosti that the Russian and Ukrainian sides had previously agreed on gas transit.

He added that Russia and Ukraine are currently discussing specifics.
