“Of course, most of Europe is interested in this project, in the completion of construction. Nord Stream 2 guaranteed supplies Europeans with gas, taking into account the fact that they refuse coal and nuclear energy. Europe has long come to the conclusion that the position of the United States is primarily connected with the desire to sell its gas. This explains the sanctions and restrictive measures introduced throughout the construction, ”Tsekov said.
The senator also noted that the calls and statements made by European politicians and public figures advocating the construction of Nord Stream 2 indicate that “a critical mass of those who are ready for a tough response to the United States is accumulating.”
Earlier, Zele called on Europe to take action in response to US sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
Seele noted that the gas pipeline increases Europe’s energy security and also guarantees consumers favorable prices compared to more expensive American liquefied natural gas.
