October Machine Order Amount Keynote Judgment “Stepping is seen” downward revision December 12 11:48

Major machine manufacturers showing the outlook for capital investment by companies. Orders received in October decreased for the fourth consecutive month due to a decline in equipment for metal processing. Was revised downward.

According to the “Machine Orders Statistics” released by the Cabinet Office, the amount of orders received from domestic companies in October by major machinery manufacturers was 798.8 billion yen, excluding ships and power, which are subject to large fluctuations. It decreased by 6% and decreased for 4 consecutive months.

Of these, orders from “manufacturing” decreased by 1.5%, and “non-manufacturing” decreased by 5.4%.

In the “manufacturing industry”, equipment for metal processing declined, and in the “non-manufacturing industry”, agricultural machinery and trucks decreased in agriculture, forestry and fishery, and PCs decreased in the information service industry.

For this reason, the Cabinet Office revised the keynote judgment to “can be stepped on”, assuming that corporate willingness to capital investment continues to decline.

The Cabinet Office says that “the effects of the slowdown in the global economy are seen in part of the manufacturing industry”.
