The UAE continues to lead the global scene with the highest penetration rate for home optical fiber network (FTTH) for the third year in a row, making it a hub for comprehensive digital innovation, and an incubator of the latest technologies and smart solutions thanks to its advanced networking capabilities.
According to the latest report issued by the World Council of Fiber Optic Connected to Houses, the United Arab Emirates ranked first on the list of countries that own fiber optic networks worldwide by connecting 95.7% of homes in the country, bypassing Singapore, China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan .
Commenting on this, the President of the World Council for Optical Fibers in the Middle East and North Africa, Joan Collina, said: "The importance of optical fibers today lies in its ability to support future network capabilities, especially with the launch of the 5G network, which facilitates the provision of the most important modern technologies and advances innovation.
