The agreement concerns the development of the Polish field of Przemysl, which is already 80% exhausted, as noted by the head of PGNiG Petr Wozniak.

The parties agreed to explore the nearest territories, which are mostly located on the territory of Ukraine.

“We are sure that there is gas there,” Tass quoted Vozniak.

The agreement will also allow delivering gas across the border, given that the transit agreement between Russia and Ukraine expires, and the pipeline’s transport capacity is freed up, the agency emphasizes.

In late August, representatives of Ukraine, Poland and the United States signed an agreement on gas cooperation between the countries in Warsaw.
