Park Yong-man, chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, criticized the amendment of the Passenger Vehicle Transportation Act, a so-called "ban on riders," and criticized him as "I'm really upset about it."

Chairman Park said on today (9th) "If we leave a precedent that prevents the future, there is a high possibility that another future will be blocked by political considerations."

"I understand the intention to protect the taxi, but it is the only way to prevent the future," he replied, "I can not understand no matter how contemplated."

Park added, “We must also consider public opinion about the inconvenience of citizens and the restriction on freedom of choice.”

The amendment restricts the possibility of arranging a driver only when renting a van with 11 to 15 passengers for tourist purposes.

The rental time must be at least 6 hours and the rental or return location is at the airport or at the port.

The legislation passed the National Assembly's National Transportation Commission on Thursday, making it more likely to be dealt with within the year.
