In Iraq, the contestation continues against the power. The demonstrations repressed in the violence left 450 dead and 20,000 wounded in two months. On Sunday, an active activist in the demonstrations was murdered in Kerbala by unidentified gunmen. And this is not the first.

Fahem al-Taï was murdered Sunday evening outside his home in Kerbala, according to AFP. He was going home when men on motorbikes shot at him almost at close range. Fahem al-Taï, 53, was apparently active in protests against power in Iraq. He had been intimidated on social networks but was still mobilizing.

Other activists were found dead without their assassination being elucidated. This is the case of Zahra Ali, a 19-year-old student abducted on 2 December in Baghdad. His lifeless, mutilated body was found the next day near his home. The savage murder of the young woman marked the spirits.

Last weekend, in Baghdad, 24 protesters occupying a multi-storey car park were killed by unidentified gunmen . Some militants accuse pro-Iranian militias of being behind this attack. The Iraqi authorities say they have no information on this series of killings.
