On CCTV images, three people, masked faces and hoods on their heads, are seen puncturing the tires of several cars. The perpetrators of these degradations acted around 4 am, taking advantage of the darkness of the night and heavy rains to pass unnoticed.

In all, more than 160 cars were damaged and inscriptions claiming that the Arabs are enemies or " when a Jew is stabbed, we do not remain silent " were painted on walls.

"Serious hate crimes"

Many police were present Monday in this district of Shuaffat, located in the eastern part annexed by Israel of the city, in order to count all the acts. In a statement, she claims to be looking for the suspects. But an Israeli Arab MP, Youssef Jabareen, denounced the laxity of the police against such incidents, describing the acts of Monday morning as " serious hate crime ".

The mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lion, calls the police to do everything to find the perpetrators of these degradations. " Jerusalem is a diverse city for all its residents, " he says. " This type of incident is serious : it has a direct impact on the fabric of life in the city ."
