Let's start with Kwon Ae-ri's friendly economy. Kwon, Economic Development Cooperation Organization The OECD surveys the life satisfaction and academic achievements of students around the world every three years.

<Reporter>

Yes. Hear this, "Really?" I think there are some people who are clumsy. There is excessive stress and reputation among Korean students.

Of course, in this survey, our teens' life satisfaction is still at the lowest level in the world. Still, I'm moving in a positive direction, so I brought it.

First of all, this survey is about three to one year old when the OECD is 15 years old since 2000. This age group is held every three years.

This time, 710,000 students from 77 countries participated. In our country 6,900 people participated. It's a fairly large sample.

Life satisfaction was asked by the survey. 'There is nothing satisfactory in my life.' From zero, 'fully satisfied'. By 10, our students' index was 6.52.

65th out of 71 countries. It is the lowest right. The only countries below this index are Japan, Macau, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Brunei. Still, it has improved significantly than before.

Although the proportion of students who are not satisfied with their lives is much higher than the OECD average, about 56.7% of students are satisfied. This is the largest increase among the participating countries compared to 2015.

Although we are moving to the lowest level, we must try to make more meaningful change by finding and analyzing education authorities and officials in the future why they have advanced in a better direction.

Anyway, it is very fortunate that students' satisfaction has improved, but how was your academic achievement?

<Reporter>

Yes. First of all, I'm good at studying Korean students. It's at the top of most items. Basically, it's evenly good.

There are three categories of reading, mathematics and science, and as you can see in the table, Asian countries are at the top. Our students are also among the top 10 in all areas.

By the way, the countries where teenagers' satisfaction with life is the lowest and those with high academic achievement almost overlap. Asian students, including us, are struggling in the fierce academic competition.

In fact, I wanted to see this indicator with the viewers today (4 days).

After a while, the results of this year's SAT will be delivered to you at 9 am. Many students have achieved their goals, but many more will accept unsatisfactory grades.

I've been competing in the country where I'm the most studied in the world under the stress of the world's highest level.

It may not be comforting right now, but our society is already showing signs of judging and judging by its ability in the field rather than by academics.

A headhunting company called Unico Search analyzed the graduation colleges of the top 1,000 CEOs of Korea, and the percentage of graduates of the three sky universities fell below 30%.

That's the first time this year. Compared to 10 years ago, it has been reduced by just half. In fact, the more vibrant the industry, the more I can see that I don't have to stay idle. I want to tell you that the road to my aptitude starts from now on.

As you said, I don't want to stress at all, but recently, my academic achievement has dropped considerably. So I was worried nationally.

<Reporter>

Yes. There is a point to look at. In particular, Korean students' reading scores have been falling for 12 consecutive years since 2006. This is what I surveyed in 2018.

There is also a survey by the OECD that sees the ability of adults. Although Koreans have very little illiteracy, their literacy skills, ie their ability to read and understand well, are falling at the global level as they get older.

However, it is not too long to see a steady decline in the long run even in teenagers, who had relatively high scores.

Literacy is the ability to be based on the ability of life to be the most fundamental to understanding the world and understanding each other. It's also closely related to quality jobs. It is also connected to the levels of society.

By the way, reading ability continues to decline in our students' academic achievement.
