The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry will visit India from the 10th of this month to inform support measures in the digital field to strengthen the competitiveness of the Indian industry. RCEP = I want to draw a flexible attitude from India that also suggests a withdrawal from the Comprehensive Economic Partnership in East Asia.

The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry will visit India's capital city New Delhi from 10th to 11th of this month to meet with Indian ministers in charge of RCEP negotiations and to communicate economic support measures in Japan's digital field.

As a support measure, when a Japanese IT company expands into India and collaborates with a local company, it encourages Japanese companies to advance by subsidizing research costs of tens of millions of yen per case.

At the same time, we will introduce the digital technology of Japanese companies that can improve the productivity of Indian agriculture and fisheries, and seek to expand the introduction locally.

The RCEP, which includes Japan, India, China, etc., has suggested that India can withdraw from negotiations against the backdrop of domestic opposition, and is focused on maintaining the framework of the current 16 countries.

Japan, aiming to conclude a framework that includes India, wants to draw a flexible stance from the Indian government by appealing that it can contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the Indian industry through cooperation in the digital field.
