“They completed the next round of negotiations with Gazprom in the context of trilateral negotiations on gas transit,” the statement said.

According to him, Naftogaz announced its readiness to consider the possibility of receiving gas from Gazprom to pay off the debt by a decision of the Stockholm arbitration.

In addition, he noted, a readiness was expressed to withdraw new claims if a long-term transit contract was concluded that would cover all expenses, and if the Ukrainian side was “compensated by Gazprom’s failure to fulfill its obligations under current contracts.”

Earlier, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Vienna is hosting Russian-Ukrainian gas negotiations at the company level.
