Supermarket chain Marqt may be definitively taken over by Udea, the parent company of competitor Ekoplaza. The founders of Marqt tried to put a stop to the courtroom before the takeover, but the judge rejected the objections on Friday.
The founders of Marqt, Quirijn Bolle and Merijn Beeren, have tried several times to prevent the sale of Marqt. In October the court ruled that the two were to sell their shares to Udea.
This week the founders tried again through the Enterprise Chamber, but that was unsuccessful.
Other shareholders, including Triodos Bank, did agree to the acquisition earlier. It is not known how much Udea pays for the shares of Marqt. The regulator has also given the green light for the acquisition.
