According to RIA Novosti, on one of the slides of the Gazprom representative’s presentation “LNG: Myths and Reality” several myths about liquefied natural gas were listed, one of which sounded like “LNG is a premium value-added product”.

Further, for a clear comparison, fresh strawberries were shown on the pipeline gas slide, and frozen on the LNG slide.

“We need to be as cost-effective as possible when making decisions: how and where we are going. For some reason, we have a subconscious perception that there is natural gas, but there is LNG. But LNG is just one form of transporting natural gas, ”he said.

Kislenko said that Gazprom has a matrix that, based on the calculation of the distance and volume of gas transportation, makes it clear that pipeline gas is unique for Russia.

In his opinion, Russian gas is located in such a way that "both Asia and Europe are in the zone of its effectiveness."

In addition, Kislenko explained that pipeline gas, in comparison with LNG, is a much more environmentally friendly way of delivering raw materials.

In May, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the need to develop the domestic LNG market.
