Huawei's international information technology company says it has finally started the first phase of research and development of future sixth-generation network technologies, noting that research and development results in new network technologies take years and not quickly.

Huawei Vice President of Public Relations, Joe Kelly, said during a press conference in Shenzhen, China, on the sidelines of the third edition of the Middle East ICT Competition 2019, the company has signed 60 contracts worldwide for the supply of 5G networks, including He pointed out that the Gulf countries account for the largest share of these contracts.

Kelly said the company had invested $ 1 billion in August to develop an integrated application system, in collaboration with developers from around the world, adding that the company wants to deal with US technology companies, with the announcement of revisions to the status of «Huawei». He stressed that the company's revenues were not affected by the US embargoes, where it registered a growth rate of up to 24%, during the first three quarters of this year, because the US market represents only 1% of the company's revenues, pointing out that China leads the global markets for the company's products, while Europe, the Middle East and Africa are second, accounting for 25% of revenue. Kelly pointed out that 5G technologies will move cities around the world for a more connected and smarter future in IoT technology, in linking cars and devices or in artificial intelligence applications.

According to market needs in the Middle East, Huawei is considering introducing 5G support devices.
