As the ambassador noted, the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) gave its permission to build the pipeline also because the project operator Nord Stream 2 AG submitted a new request, which already mentioned the laying of the pipeline not through Danish territorial waters, but through the economic zone of Denmark.

On October 30, Nord Stream 2 received permission to lay Nord Stream 2 along a route southeast of Bornholm Island.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the decision of the Danish agency.
