The European Union has not yet withdrawn all subsidies to European aircraft maker Airbus, Reuters news agency writes Monday based on insiders. Brussels would still invest money in A350 aircraft. Due to illegal state support, the trade organization approved US import tariffs on European products in October.

The WTO concluded at the beginning of October that the aircraft manufacturer was supported illegally for years by European subsidies. According to the trade organization, the United States has suffered damage as a result of the support of various Member States. This damage can be recovered through import taxes of 7.5 billion dollars (6.81 billion euros), the WTO decided.

The decision partly ended the fight that has been going on for fifteen years about support programs for aircraft builders Airbus and Boeing. The latter company also received illegal support, but then from the US government.

At the beginning of 2020, the WTO judged how high the rates that the EU could charge in response to those illegal subsidies were. Airbus has not yet responded to the publication of the news agency.
