It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to him, the terms of concluding a long-term gas transit agreement largely depend on Ukraine, as it still needs to certify its gas transmission system (GTS) operator.

“Everything largely depends, first of all, on the Ukrainian side in terms of the implementation of this European legislation. Certification is needed to conclude a contract, Miller spoke about this, ”he said.

Novak also answered the question of whether the deadline for concluding a long-term gas transit agreement is December 13, as Naftogaz indicated.

“We did not discuss the terms, it’s just they indicate the date that they have in the decision ... a certain date for booking capacities,” the minister said.

Novak said earlier that the bilateral negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian sides on gas were constructive.

On November 26, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said that Ukraine needs to resolve issues with the new GTS operator to continue transit of Russian gas.

On November 6, Director of the Energy Development Fund Sergei Pikin, in an interview with FBA “Economics Today,” commented on Ukraine’s position on the transit of Russian gas.
