As indicated in the company, a meeting of energy ministers of Ukraine and Russia took place in Vienna on November 28.

“Bilateral meetings are not something unique in the format of trilateral gas negotiations with the Russians, which we have been conducting with the participation of the European Commission since 2014,” a Facebook statement said.

It is noted that the consultations have been agreed with the European Commission.

“Any decisions on this issue will continue to be discussed and adopted by us in a trilateral format Ukraine-Russia-EU,” the company added.

As emphasized, at the meeting, a substantive discussion of the content of the agreement on the interaction of operators was started.

“For the good: we finally got their comments from the Russians on the interconnection agreement, which should be concluded in accordance with European rules,” the company said.

Naftogaz reported that the head of the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator handed over the draft of such an agreement to Gazprom at a trilateral meeting in September.

“Such an agreement is the first step to continue the transit, although it is still a long way to the final decision. The trilateral meeting scheduled for today was postponed just so that the specialists of both operators would analyze the comments and agree on the text of the agreement, ”the statement said.

Earlier media reported that the tripartite consultations on gas, which were to be held in Brussels on November 29, were rescheduled.

On November 28, Vienna hosted negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. At the meeting, which was attended, among others, by the heads of the Ministry of Energy, Alexander Novak and Alexei Orzhel, the parties agreed to strengthen joint work to discuss gas issues.
