“We should not forget, given the costs and obligations incurred, they still have to fully realize it. On the other hand, our gas transportation system, which is ready and has traditionally been supplying gas to the European market for a long time, can become very competitive, including those new infrastructure projects of Russia - Nord Stream - 1 and Nord Stream - 2, - said the minister.

According to him, from this point of view, “the European market will benefit from this,” because he will have more offers.

“If, within the framework of this interaction, he loads all these streams, then this is more competition and less price,” he added.

Earlier, Orzhel announced Ukraine’s readiness for the situation if the transit of Russian gas is terminated.

As noted in the spring at Naftogaz, Gazprom has all the technical capabilities to refuse to use the gas transportation system of Ukraine even if the construction of Nord Stream 2 is not completed.

According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, Nord Stream 2 will start operating in mid-2020.
