Novak allowed gas supplies through the Nord Stream 2 in 2019

Gas supplies through the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline may begin before 2020. This was announced by Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak.

“Maybe this year too,” Novak quotes RIA Novosti.

He noted that this technical issue “is tied not only to the completion of the pipe, but also to commissioning”, which is the competence of the operator of the Nord Stream 2 project “to a greater extent”.

“I think that this can happen in the coming months,” the minister concluded.

Earlier, Wintershall announced that Nord Stream 2 would be completed by the end of 2019.

On October 30, Denmark was granted permission to lay Nord Stream 2 on the country's continental shelf.

Expert Igor Yushkov in an interview with the NSN appreciated this decision.
