Russia and Ukraine have discussed the direct supply of gas in the volume of 15 billion cubic meters per year. This was stated by Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak.

"These are volumes about which we discussed in the last part of tripartite consultation. We offered (and not the first time). Because we are considering the issue of transit including taking into account direct deliveries to the domestic market, and not through reverse, ”Novak quotes TASS.

He refused to assess the prospects for gas consultations because of the need to “wait for an official response from the Ukrainian side to Gazprom’s proposal.”

"When we see an official paper, then we can comment on," - said the Minister.

Earlier, in Germany called on to save the transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory.

At consultations at the expert level of the EU, Russia and Ukraine, which will be held on November 20, the EC intends to support a long-term decision on gas transit.
