The government seems to take things in hand after several days of violent demonstrations. The United Nations speaks of dozens of deaths while the NGO Amnesty International mentions the figure of 106 shot dead.

On Tuesday night, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed that the regime had taken control of the situation by "pulling back the enemy". The Ministry of Justice spokesman said that some of the leaders of demonstrations related to the People's Mojahedin and foreign-based monarchist groups, as well as those who sent films to foreign media, were arrested. During the unrest of recent days, hundreds of banks and stores were set on fire across the country.

Financial measures to help families
