“We consider the claims that are put forward to be absurd, absurd and unacceptable,” he said.

Peskov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the situation, said that there was a danger of entering the new year without a corresponding agreement.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel said that Gazprom’s proposal to extend the existing gas transit contract or conclude a new agreement is unacceptable.

Gazprom said it had sent Naftogaz a proposal to extend the existing contract for a year or to conclude a new gas transit agreement. The Russian company also said that a prerequisite for continued transit is the mutual rejection of the claims of the parties in the courts.

The head of the Alpari information and analytical center, Alexander Razuvaev, in an interview with the FAN emphasized that a new gas transit agreement between Gazprom and Naftogaz is possible only if the court claims are completely nullified.
