NTT DOCOMO Recovery training assuming a base station power outage in preparation for a large-scale disaster November 19, 18:44

NTT DOCOMO has conducted training to confirm the recovery procedure on the assumption that the base station has failed due to a series of cases in which mobile phone communications are damaged due to large-scale natural disasters.

The training was held in Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture, and approximately 200 employees participated.

First, we assumed that an earthquake directly below the Tokyo metropolitan area with a seismic intensity of 7 occurred, and that the base station had a power failure.

In addition, training was conducted assuming that the car could not reach the base station damaged by the landslide, and it was confirmed that the emergency base station was assembled and operated by transporting the equipment with a helicopter.

Disaster drills are conducted every year, but this time, we have put emphasis on power recovery training for base stations based on the occurrence of large-scale power outages due to successive typhoons.

“The recent disasters are widespread, especially in the latest typhoons, and I realized the magnitude of the power outage. The number of disaster equipment is increasing year by year. I would like to work on countermeasures with considerable effort. "

The NTT Group is taking measures such as sharing mobile power supply vehicles and mobile base station vehicles, including NTT East and West Japan, based on a series of typhoon damage.
