According to Naftogaz, the EC made recommendations to conclude a long-term contract with a significant amount according to European rules and with the new Ukrainian operator of the GTS.

As the press service noted, this "meets the commercial interests of all parties and ensures the energy security of Europe."

Earlier, TASS, citing a source, reported that the European Commission allegedly advises Kiev to return to direct purchases of Russian gas in the amount of 15 billion cubic meters per year.

The day before, Gazprom sent Naftogaz a proposal to extend the existing contract for a year or to conclude a new transit agreement.
