Naftogaz intends to discuss the proposal of Gazprom in a trilateral regime

Naftogaz’s executive director, Yuri Vitrenko, said the company intends to discuss Gazprom’s proposal to extend a tripartite transit contract with representatives of Russia and the European Commission.

“We hope that work will continue in a trilateral format. We will also discuss the latest proposal of Gazprom transparently in a trilateral format with European partners in order to ensure fair European conditions for the continuation of transit, ”he said on ICTV.

Previously, Gazprom stated that they had sent Naftogaz a proposal to extend the existing contract for a year or to conclude a new gas transit agreement.

The corresponding proposal said that a prerequisite for the continuation of transit is a mutual rejection of the claims of the parties in the courts.

The executive director of the Ukrainian company, Yuri Vitrenko, said that Naftogaz received a proposal from Gazprom to extend the contract for gas transit, it will be carefully studied.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel said that Gazprom’s proposal to extend the existing gas transit contract or conclude a new agreement is unacceptable.
