Officials of car companies revealed their intention to put electric vehicles in the state markets during 2020.

During the Dubai International Motor Show 2019, which concluded at the Dubai World Trade Center yesterday, they explained that the introduction of electric cars is in line with future demand and the UAE is moving towards the use of electric vehicles.

«Jaguar» electric

Jaguar Land Rover Middle East Public Relations and Communications Director Salman Sultan said in a statement that the company has launched its Jaguar i-Pace for the first time on its Dubai International Motor Show 2019.

He pointed out that the model is expected to be introduced in the state markets in mid-2020, at a price of 390 thousand dirhams. He stressed that the introduction of «Jaguar» electric car in the UAE market to keep pace with future demand, and the interest of government agencies to move towards electric cars. He explained that the car includes intelligent technologies, and will be powered by a 400-horsepower engine, allowing the launch to 100 kilometers in 4.8 seconds.

Solar panels

Adeeb Safa, director of GAC sales at Gargash Automobiles and General Trading, said the company has offered two models of electric cars, which are expected to be launched in the UAE next year.

He added that one of the models comes as «AONS» innovative smart technologies, and allows electric charging via solar panels on the exterior of the car, the model also includes intelligent technologies, such as communication with smartphone applications, and support «Intelligent Control System» Automatically slows the vehicle down as soon as it gets too close to another vehicle, as well as the Auto Park system to help park the car in parking.

He explained that the period of charging electric ranged between six hours and eight, while charging for a period of 40 minutes to walk a distance of 250 kilometers. He said the second model comes as the «JI 3530» of the category «Crossover», and includes intelligent systems to search for electric charging sites. Abdul Ilah Wazni, head of marketing at Nissan Middle East, said that the company has introduced the Nissan LEAF, which is 100% electric. He stressed that the capacity of the car was reviewed through the use of electric power in the operation of other devices, pointing out that the company is considering putting the car on the state market in 2020.

Chinese vehicle

EVEN CHI, deputy general manager of OneWorld Automotive Group, said the company has launched a model for an electric car made in China by Hong Kong ITS3, confirming the launch of the vehicle in the UAE next year.
