Huawei celebrated its annual innovation conference last week ... in Paris. The Chinese company extends throughout the world despite the veto imposed from the US, a restriction currently in the truce phase but which would apply from the 19th of this month if an agreement does not remedy it before. The Chinese company, leader in telecommunications equipment, also stands out in the manufacture of smartphones : only the South Korean Samsung sells more phones.

Although what happens in Huawei depends on what is decided in the US, the company places more and more mobile phones around the world, 66.8 million in the last quarter, according to the consultancy Canalys; an amount that would represent a market share of 19% . Thanks to a 29% rise over the data achieved a year earlier, the Shenzhen firm is the one that makes the most progress among all companies. Samsung , with a share of 22.4% , does not increase its sales at the same rate, and Apple lags behind, with 12.3% . Xiaomi (9.1%) and Oppo (9.1%), both Chinese, now approach their records to those of the Palo Alto company.

The sale of smarthones has finally reactivated, as can also be seen above in the sector chart, and this comeback corroborates a trend: the asiatization of the mobile phone , the star product of global consumption.

In fact, the two companies that sell the most devices, Samsung and Huawei, are both the most advanced in the deployment of 5G networks, the mobile communications standard of the future. While the main Asian companies already sell models with 5G connection, Apple is not expected to include it until September 2020, on the occasion of its media presentation each year.

Not worth with the iPhone X

The US company, which came to enter more than 60,000 million dollars per quarter for iPhone deliveries, in the last quarter barely exceeded 30,000 million, despite the positive impact of the iPhone X on the accounts.
